Amanda Minnich

Amanda MinnichAmanda J. Minnich is an NSF Graduate Research Fellow and a Programs in Interdisciplinary Biological and Biomedical Sciences Fellow. She recently received the Grace Hopper Celebration Scholarship for outstanding women in computer science. Amanda holds a BA in Integrative Biology from UC Berkeley and an MS in Computer Science from UNM. She has interned at UC Berkeley, Los Alamos National Laboratory, Sandia National Laboratory, and Mandiant, and will be a Data Science Intern at Groupon Summer 2015. Before going into computer science, Amanda worked as a plant ecologist in French Polynesia and Australia. Amanda's current research centers around data mining and machine learning, with a focus on improving trust online, specifically for online reviews. She recently presented her work on TrueView, a trustworthiness score for hotels, at WWW2015 in Florence, Italy. This work has also been featured in a UNM press release (, as well as by KRQE News 13.
